Karen Fox Elected Chairman of the Board for the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association (TNPPA) in 2024

The Tennessee Professional Photographers Association (TNPPA) proudly announces the appointment of Karen Fox, owner of Karen Fox Photography in Centerville, as Chairman of the Board for the 2024 TNPPA Board of Directors. Karen, who has served diligently during her tenure as President of TNPPA, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to this important leadership role.

During her presidency, Karen Fox worked tirelessly to enhance the organization's operational efficiency and systems, ensuring a solid foundation for future growth. Her strategic vision and unwavering commitment to TNPPA's mission have significantly contributed to its ongoing success.

Misty Westebbe, President of TNPPA, expressed her gratitude and excitement for Karen's continued involvement, saying, "Karen has been wonderful to work with this year during her presidency. She has worked hard over the past years while she has been on the board to improve the systems running in the background that most people don’t even think about. She truly has lifted up the organization to take it much further in the future. I thank Karen for paving the way, and I am overjoyed to have her as Chairman of the Board during my year as President of TNPPA."

In addition to her leadership within TNPPA, Karen Fox is the owner of Karen Fox Photography, a well-established photography studio located in Centerville, TN. Her studio specializes in providing high-quality photography services to the local community and beyond.

As Chairman of the Board, Karen Fox will play a pivotal role in guiding TNPPA's strategic direction and ensuring the organization's continued growth and success. Her leadership will be instrumental in furthering TNPPA's mission to provide educational and networking resources for photographers across the state of Tennessee.

HICKMAN COUNTY, TN Photographer Named Gold Medalist at International Photographic Competition

Karen Fox of Karen Fox Photography is honored by peers and jurors for high-quality photography

HICKMAN COUNTY, TN – Karen Fox of Karen Fox Photography in Hickman County, TN was named a Gold Medalist during Professional Photographers of America's 2021 International Photographic Competition.

Fox's work will be on display at the upcoming Imaging USA, held January 16-18, 2022 in National Harbor, Maryland. Imaging USA is one of the largest annual conventions and expos for professional photographers.

A panel of 36 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from over 5,000 total submitted entries at PPA headquarters in Atlanta. Judged against a standard of excellence, 1,926 images were selected for the Merit Collection and 1,225 (roughly 24 percent) were selected for the esteemed Imaging Excellence Collection—the best of the best. The Imaging Excellence Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated " Excellence Collection" book by Marathon Press.

The level of the award is determined by how many of those four images receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA Loan Collection, which is displayed at photographic exhibitions, conventions, and other photography events. Fox was named a Gold Medalist, meaning that two of their four merited images entered the PPA Loan Collection. In 2021, they were one of only 103 Gold Medalists.

TNPPA Annual Convention

At the 70th Annual Convention of the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association Karen Fox was awarded both the Tennessee Service Degree & the Tennessee Certified Degree.

From the TNPPA website:

Created in 1980, TNPPA offers two degrees to honor members for exemplary achievement in the areas of service to the organization and excellence in photographic skill.

The service degree is earned through volunteering time to the organization by serving on committees, assisting with setup and breakdown of conventions and workshops, volunteering to chair a committee, writing for the newsletter, or other tasks that contribute positively to TNPPA.

The Tennessee Certified Degree is earned by entering the State Image Competition and receiving exceptional image scoring, thus earning Image Competition Merits or awards. This degree is awarded to those who show exceptional creative works of art in their imagery and are technical experts in their field of photography which is evident through their photographic skills.
